     Christianity. The monks of the Middle Ages remained alive 
     to the liturgy for so long a time only because, in spite of 
     their own defects, they held so persistently to this biblical 
     way of accepting Christianity, of meditating on its truths 
     and of living in them.

     Allusion to the changing patterns of liturgical worship in 
the twentieth century will recall to some readers the parallel 
changes in the world of management and of industrial 
organization. What occurs at the opening of King Lear  in 
regard to the delegation of the king’s authority and functions
